Health and Safety Manager
Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per year

About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Health and Safety Manager to lead and drive best practices in health, safety, and environmental management within a dynamic and forward-thinking FMCG organisation. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with company policies and health and safety regulations, fostering a culture of safety, and providing expert guidance across all levels of the business.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and implement health and safety strategies to cultivate a proactive safety culture.

Ensure best practices are maintained and shared across the site.

Coach, influence, and support business leaders and teams in safety and environmental leadership.

Provide technical advice and updates on health and safety developments, ensuring compliance with targets and action plans.

Collaborate with all departments to address and resolve health and safety concerns.

Deliver training and coaching sessions on key health and safety best practices.

Investigate accidents and incidents, implement corrective actions, and maintain comprehensive documentation.

Represent the site in Health & Safety meetings and liaise with external authorities.

Conduct inspections, audits, and risk assessments to proactively mitigate hazards.

Manage health and safety training plans, identify training needs, and contribute to development initiatives.

Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, including waste management, emissions, and energy use.

Oversee data management through the company’s IT safety system (Assure) and maintain accurate safety metrics.
Qualifications and Experience
-
NEBOSH General Certificate and Technical Level IOSH Membership.

Minimum 2 years’ experience in a dedicated Health & Safety role.

Experience managing site risks including asbestos, construction, COSHH, Legionella, fire, LOLER, and energy services.

Strong knowledge of UK HS&E legislation.

Experience in accident and incident investigations.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
