Packaging Technologist

North Lincolnshire | Food Manufacturing
£35,000 – £37,500 | Full-time | Permanent

Let’s Set the Record Straight.

Packaging isn’t “just a box”. Not here.

We’re partnering with a seriously impressive food manufacturer — the kind that doesn’t follow trends, they set them. From protein-heavy favourites to a fast-growing seafood portfolio, this business is scaling up and needs a Packaging Technologist who knows how to make packaging work harder, smarter, and better.

This is a role for someone who likes to be in the action. New launches. Packaging upgrades. Cost-down projects. Sustainability challenges. Real impact. Real visibility. No hiding behind a screen.

If you want a role where your decisions actually end up on shelf, keep reading.

The Job (The Good Stuff)

You’ll be the technical brains behind packaging across two production sites, getting stuck into:

  • Translating briefs into practical, production-ready packaging solutions

  • Presenting packaging concepts with confidence (yes, people will listen)

  • Leading packaging trials, transit testing, and launch activity

  • Managing artwork and print across internal systems and retailer platforms

  • Owning packaging specifications, BRC compliance, and waste reporting

  • Working closely with procurement to identify smart cost-saving opportunities

  • Acting as the go-to packaging expert for operations, NPD, and suppliers

Hands-on. Fast-moving. Proper packaging work.

What We’re After

You’ll already have:

  • At least 2 years’ experience as a Packaging Technologist in food manufacturing

  • The ability to juggle multiple projects without dropping the ball

  • Solid knowledge of own label vs branded packaging processes

  • Confidence dealing with suppliers, retailers, and internal teams

  • A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel between sites

If you’re organised, curious, and technically strong — you’ll fit right in.

You’ll Do Well Here If You:

  • Care about getting things right first time

  • Enjoy being hands-on with trials and sample prep

  • Communicate clearly and confidently at all levels

  • Like learning, improving, and pushing packaging forward

  • Want to be known as the packaging person, not just “part of the team”

What’s In It For You?

  • Salary of £35,000 – £37,500

  • Generous holiday allowance

  • Life assurance (minimum 2x salary)

  • Genuine career development and internal progression

  • Free onsite parking

  • Enhanced maternity and paternity benefits
