Role: Operational Accountant – Full Time
Location: Merseyside
We’re working with a leading food manufacturing business to recruit an Operations Management Accountant for their Merseyside site. This is a hands-on role where you’ll work closely with operations, using financial insight to improve performance, drive efficiencies, and support decision-making on site.
This isn’t just reporting — you’ll be out on the floor, understanding the drivers behind the numbers and helping the business make better, faster decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with production teams to improve operational performance and efficiency
- Deliver weekly forecasts, performance analysis, and variance reporting
- Provide insight at daily operational meetings
- Support product costing and pricing decisions
- Investigate variances and identify key drivers and improvement areas
- Contribute to budgets and reforecasts
- Support Capex tracking and financial evaluation
- Assist with weekly and monthly accounts
What We’re Looking For
- Studying towards CIMA or ACCA
- Experience in manufacturing or FMCG finance
- Strong Excel and analytical skills
- ERP system experience (SAP desirable)
- Confident communicator who can work closely with operations
- Proactive and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
