Do you enjoy taking ownership of the entire manufacturing process rather? Would you like a mix of computer work and shopfloor hands on work each day? If so, this role might just be the one for you!
The business are a well-established precision engineering firm supplying high-quality components into industries where accuracy and consistency are vital, including Optical Medical and Scientific.
The Role;

From interpreting engineering drawings and creating CNC programs, through to setting, proving out on the machine and producing the finished complex component, you'll be responsible for delivering precision parts from an engineering drawing to completion.
You'll work on a variety of complex components and have the freedom to optimise machining strategies, improve cycle times and ensure every part meets the highest quality standards. You'll be working with modern 3, 4 and 5-axis CNC machining centres in a clean, well-equipped manufacturing environment, collaborating with a skilled team that values quality, continuous improvement and technical expertise.
What we need from you;
- Previous offline CNC programming experience – Any CAM software considered!
- Willingness to program offline and be hands on machining. Must still be able to set and operate up to 5 axis machines
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and take a component from program creation through prove-out to finished part
If you're the type of machinist who enjoys seeing a job through from the first line of code to the completed component, we'd love to hear from you. Click apply and Chris Smith will be in touch with the details. Even if your CV isn’t fully up to date, he can help you fill in the blanks!
