A food manufacturer experiencing high growth are on the hunt for a new Health & Safety Manager to help build on current systems, influence culture and an opportunity to own H&S onsite.
As production scales, the safety and compliance foundations need to scale with it.
That’s where you come in, you’ll build a strong system, working towards accreditation while keeping approval secure.
From day one, you’ll have the backing and support from the team. You’ll be accountable to shift managers, engineering and site leadership for getting things done.
It’s hands-on. You’ll be:
- Writing SOPs and Safe Systems of Work across production, hygiene and maintenance
- Running risk assessments
- Owning near-miss reporting and following through on fixes
- Chairing site H&S meetings with real agendas and real accountability
- Driving the external H&S partner’s recommendations through to done
- Delivering training yourself
- Building and maintaining the training and compliance matrix
- Running inductions for every new starter, temp and contractor
No pressure to have this cracked overnight. You’ll get a realistic pace to ramp up, with real support around you. Get the manufacturing side airtight, and the remit grows shaping how the whole business works, not just the factory floor.
What you’ll need:
- NEBOSH General Certificate (essential)
- Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- A project-management brain: you close things out and influence people who don’t report to you
- Solid technical grounding in COSHH, machinery safety and manual handling
- Genuinely happy being on the floor, not just behind a screen
