Design Engineer R&D, F1
As a designer, working at the pinnacle of motorsport in F1 can carry a stigma that ‘you’re only designing a small part of the car’, but this couldn’t be further from the truth in this role.
The role;
You’ll be working in a true R&D environment where you’ll be designing mechanical components and test rigs which can be used for a wide variety of components and assembly testing. You will take the project from conception, working with either race team or wind tunnel team, to fully understand the requirements, then design a rig/component to prove out a test or theory on a dyno or tunnel. You’ll be in a small R&D team with support from a hands on manager, but you will be responsible for your own end to end design process including tooling and fixturing, DFM and FEA.

What’s required;
This is an experienced position so will require some previous experience in the following areas;
- Strong mechanical design
- F1 or high end Motorsport experience
- Ability to creative engineering solutions
- Stress/FEA ability
