Fancy working for a leading subcontract manufacturing business specialising in the production of precision machined components for esteemed clients in the automotive, motorsport, medical, and scientific industries? We are currently seeking a highly skilled CNC Offline Programmer to join a dynamic programming team, for a forward-thinking business that can offer great rewards and progression opportunities in return for your hard work and engineering expertise.

You will collaborate closely with engineering departments to determine optimal machining methods, select appropriate tooling, and conduct thorough design-for-manufacture reviews. This role will primarily involve utilising specialized CAM software and Vericut simulation software to develop intricate simultaneous 5-axis programs tailored for modern CNC 5 axis milling machinery. The CNC Offline Programmer will work with a variety of specialist metallic materials, including Aluminum, Alloy Steels, Stainless Steel, Titanium, Castings, and Forgings, while adhering to strict tolerances down to microns.

Responsibilities of the position;

  • Collaborate with engineering departments to understand component specifications and design requirements. Conducting comprehensive design-for-manufacture reviews to optimize machining processes and ensure manufacturability.
  • Develop complex simultaneous 5-axis CNC programs using specialist CAM software and Vericut simulation software to verify and optimize CNC programs, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Generate toolpaths for machining operations, including roughing, finishing, and contouring, while minimizing cycle times and maximizing tool life.
  • Perform test runs and troubleshooting to validate CNC programs and optimize machining processes.

What we need from you;

  • Proven machining & programming experience – Having worked your way up from the shopfloor with CNC offline programming knowledge
  • Proficiency in specialist CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, NX CAM, Hypermill, Catia, Edgecam, Fusion360, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling selection, and machining strategies for complex components.
  • Experience working with metallic materials
